Decoration 2009

~Everyone was able to come in last weekend for decoration where Jeff's daddy is buried. You can also see a couple little rascals who tried to smell some of the artificial flowers & who got in trouble for digging in a bird nest they ran across!

~we had a air & bird show !!

We are not to far from hwy 75 & 168 so it put us in a pretty good view of the airshow that was going on a couple weekends ago. We could hear everything real good & I just catch the planes real good. While I was out running around the yard Jeff pointed out our buddy was back so I could catch him a little better than than the planes. Red headed woodpecker! Who'd thunk it?

Bassmaster's was in Horton not Guntersville?

We had some company Sat. eve. & for a little bit on Sun. morning Jeff & Doc got in alot of necessary fishingtime, they were catching them as fast as they could reel them in! Doc stayed very busy cleaning a good mess of them also!

~Well, you can see in the top picture the little pair of birds have been trying to claim a post under our porch for their new home. After several attempts with moth balls which they nicely rolled them off outta their way! So, I had a "IDEA" ! I took a rubber snake I had on hand from a previous adventure & stretched him out from corner to corner, Yea, that was gonna fix it! I had out smarted them little birds after all! I go by the door every bit of 20 min's later & she's using the dang snake as a PERCH!!!!!!!!! So i gave up & let them little determined birds just carry on with their business! I just hope they don't mess up our porch & leave it like they found it! I'll keep you posted....... that is the loving couple at the top of my blog......Heckle and Jeckle~

Great Salad Dressing---Yummers

1 tablespoon minced garlic

2 teaspoons of salt

1 cup olive oil

2 tablespoons lemon juice

1/2 cup red wine vinegar

1 small bottle texas pete hot sauce

1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon yellow mustard

~~mix well, shake before each use,

I usually make a double batch (quart)

Down on the lake at Kathy's for T'dega~

~We had a exciting weekend down on the water at Kathy's & for the Talladega races also! When we wasn't at the track Jeff was loafing us to junk stores & a little greenhouse/antique shop also! While we was at the little greenhouse me & him spotted a pretty little Japanese Maple tree across the yard & I was gonna bend down & look on the "TAG" to see how much it was.......it wasn't a tag it was a baby snake wrapped up in it.....well here we go! We get the lady & she yanks some "old lopping shears" off the wall & hands'em to Jeff (HEHA) my next question is how much is the tree cause he's going to CHOP "something" w/ the shears I just wanted to make sure we was good on the tree if it "didn't make it" if you know what I mean! :0).... While at Kathy's I was on the look out for a family of geese, she kept a good eye on her 5 yellow fuzzy baby's & us too! When it was time for the track we got to meet up w/ several friends! Russel & Katie, Doc & Emily & their crazy crew & Ms. Miller was able to come w/ her daughter in law also! I hope you enjoy some of my ton of pic's I'll tried to keep it brief! I gotta new camera w/ my birthday money & I get a little excited sometimes!

Horton's 2009 Fishing Tournament

Horton's 2009 Fishing Tournament is now underway & YOU are already behind cause Granny (& cocoa,fred) have shown up at the pond and are taking names! This is a fat one that is full of eggs! You need to get your rods & bread balls ready!

my thoughts for today....

I absolutely can't wait to get out in the flowerbeds this is very peaceful to me to just scratch around in the dirt! I love to get out this time of the year & see what survived the winter this picture below is some peonies that are wanting to sprout up! It's hard to believe how ugly they are now

& in just a few weeks will have huge flowers ! The picture below is what would happen if I hit the Georgia Power Ball Lottery! Yep,.... well I'd call Jeff home first cause he wouldn't work another day!

~this is nothing compared to the awful damage up around Preston Island & South Souty. Jeff did make a "Granny Run" at about 2:30 this morning. We are very fortunate.
